Transfer news linking Chelsea striker Demba Ba with a return to Newcastle United has broken over the last couple of days and when Newcastle fans were asked whether they’d want the Senegal striker back, the answer was a resounding YES!
We ran a poll earlier this week, which asked that exact question and over 90% of fans said that they would want to see Demba Ba return to Newcastle.
Demba Ba is twiddling his thumbs at Chelsea at the moment and it’s not doing his career any good, as the striker has been left out of latest Senegal squad, which is not good news for the 28-year-old in a World Cup year.
I don’t see him getting any game time any time soon, so if he wants to force his way back into Senegal’s plans, then he’ll have to move on.
Newcastle seems as good a place as any, with the Magpies thought to be keen on a loan if their new advances for Bafetimbi Gomis don’t prove to be fruitful.
A return to St James’ Park might just help Ba rediscover his scoring touch and gives him the opportunity to be idolised once again.
One concern for Newcastle might be that as Ba and Papiss Cisse didn’t hit it off first time, why would it be any different this time around, but Cisse isn’t scoring at the moment so things can’t really go downhill at all.
They say never go back, but I hope Ba ignores that!
