A £3m bargain for Newcastle

coloccini and baAs talks between Chelsea and Newcastle United about the future of Senegal striker Demba Ba are believed to have opened up, there are reports that any loan deal would cost Mike Ashley as much as £3 million, but I still think that would be a great bit of business for the Magpies.

It is hard to put a price on goals in the Premier League, but having a top quality striker who can bang them in is priceless, which is what Demba Ba is.

Newcastle are thought to have opened up with an offer of £1m for a season-long loan, so would need to increase their offer three-fold to get their man.

With talks having been resumed for Bafetimbi Gomis, there is a thought that Ba is seen as plan B, but if Shola Ameobi was to move on, then there’s no reason why both couldn’t be brought in.

Gomis, Ba, Papiss Cisse and Loic Remy could battle for the striking places and provide Newcastle with enough firepower to fire them up the league table.

As far as Ba’s Chelsea future goes, it looks as though it’s non-existent under new manager Jose Mourinho.

With Samuel Eto’o arriving at Chelsea today, surely Demba is desperate to leave the Blues and he will have good memories of his time on Tyneside.

£3m for a player who will score 15-20 goals? An absolute bargain in my eyes.

To be honest ashley should have pushed the boat out last time around but the man is greedy and incompetent as a leader of the club. If he paid 10million for him now he’d be getting a proven goalscorer for 3 million as he didnt pay a fee for ba initially. The thing is ashley won’t see it like that.

Gotta be worth bringing him back for 10 mill. Worth it in my opinion. Premier league experience. Knows the club and the fans. Not on a play at chelski much. No brainer
