Tim Krul - Newcastle away goalkeeper shirtGoalkeeper has been one of Newcastle United’s most stable positions this season, but with garnering interested from Serie A, should Newcastle move for youngster and pocket £6 million in the process?

The Daily Mail is reporting that Serie A giants AC Milan have launched a £10m bid for Dutchman Tim Krul.

Six months ago you would have said that Krul was worth a lot more than that, maybe even as much as £20m, but the 24-year-old has had a slightly shaky season.

While the defence in front of Krul has been pretty poor, there have been a few shots you’d have expected the Dutchman to save and at times his kicking has been dreadful.

However, Krul still comes up with important saves in matches, as he showed against Norwich at Carrow Road to earn a rare clean sheet for the Magpies, and is still yet to reach his peak.

If Newcastle were to sell Krul, the Magpies could move for England international Jack Butland and still have a fair bit of cash to spare.

Earlier this week the Evening Chronicle reported that Newcastle were one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in Butland, who is sure to move to the top flight of English football soon rather than later.

Still only 19-years-old, Butland has the experience of the 2012 Olympics under his belt and looks set to challenge Manchester City’s Joe Hart for England’s number one shirt in years to come.

Sell Krul? Newcastle would be mad, but the extra transfer budget would come in handy…

Absolutely not! The club’s supporters have been kicked in the teeth enough. Enough is enough. Simply making £6M just to go into Cashley’s pocket is completely unacceptable.
