Alan Pardew and Yohan CabayeThings can’t get much worse for Newcastle United right now, as the Magpies continue to lose and edge nearer and nearer to the relegation zone.

With Demba Ba no longer in the squad and many players on the treatment table, the lack of the strength in depth of Newcastle’s squad is really apparent right now, as was illustrated in the FA Cup against Brighton.

Newcastle really need some players back and thankfully an important duo are not far off returning for the Magpies and giving Alan Pardew a massive boost.

Newcastle have missed Yohan Cabaye massively in recent weeks. The 26-year-old Frenchman makes the Magpies tick and when Cabaye returns he should be able to lay on plenty of assists for Papiss Cisse.

He will also be able to link up with compatriot and former teammate at Lille Mathieu Debuchy and hopefully the pair of them will cause havoc in the Premier League.

Steven Taylor is a player who is often injured, but Newcastle’s recent displays show how much the Magpies have missed his presence in the heart of their defence.

Mike Williamson has been heavily criticised and as far as I’m concerned, the sooner Taylor takes Williamson’s place alongside Fabricio Coloccini in the centre of the backline the better.

Here are Newcastle duo Cabaye and Taylor, but will the pair be able to revive the Magpies?
