Newcastle United are in the race for Blackpool starlet Tom Ince according the Sun, but will face competition from Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United to sign the English youngster.

Son of former England captain and Man United star Paul Ince, Tom is quickly making a name for himself in English football despite being released by Liverpool last year.

Now 20 years old, Ince has turned many heads at Blackpool over the last 15 months and almost secured promotion from the Championship for the Seasiders last season.

A tricky winger, Ince has represented the England U21s as he continues to be one of the stand out players in the second tier of English football.

He has already netted eight times in the Championship for Blackpool this season, at a strike-rate of better than a goal every other game.

It is therefore not a surprise that top Premier League clubs are taking a close look at the youngster, who is rated in the region of £8 million.

As Ince’s contract runs out next summer, the 20-year-old may be available for a fraction of that price if he decides not to take up the offer of a one-year extension.

His dad Paul will no doubt advise Tom as to his next club, which could put Man Utd in the driving seat due to Paul’s affiliation with the club.

However, Tom has thrived at Blackpool by playing regular first team football, something that Alan Pardew would no doubt look to continue to give him if he could capture one of English football’s brightest talents.
