There are less than two weeks until the transfer window slams shut, and while Newcastle United’s main priority will be to keep hold of their star players, manager Alan Pardew will still be keen to make further additions if he can.
Newcastle added Ajax’s defensive midfielder Vurnon Anita to their ranks last week, but now just have a little over ten days to make further reinforcements for the 2012/13 Premier League season.
If their match against Tottenham showed Pardew anything, it’s that Newcastle have very little strength in depth at the back and an injury to Shola Ameobi meant that the Magpies didn’t even have a striker on the bench.
