Newcastle’s biggest flop set for shock return to England with West Ham

Jean-Alain Boumsong. A name that strikes fear into every Newcastle United supporter and soon West Ham fans too, as if the transfer rumours are to be believed then the Frenchman could be back in the Premier League next season!

The Daily Mail is reporting that the 6ft 3in centre back is a target for West Ham manager Sam Allardyce as the Hammers look to stiffen up their defence as they return to top flight English football.

However, the Frenchman will do anything but that and it would be worth visiting betting.betfair.com to back West Ham to go down if Boumsong did arrive at Upton Park.

32-year-old Jean-Alain Boumsong is one of the worst defenders I’ve seen pull on a Newcastle United shirt and given that he cost £8 million from Rangers back in 2005 just months after he was available on a free, makes it even worse.

Sam Allardyce obviously wasn’t paying much attention back in the 2005/06 season when he was in charge of Bolton, as he’s targeted Boumsong as a potential free signing to provide some backup to the likes of the talented young English defender James Tomkins.

To be fair to former Newcastle manager Allardyce, Boumsong hasn’t been quite so bad since he left Tyneside, as a season with Juventus was followed by a return to French football at Lyon, before he moved on again to Panathinaikos.

Boumsong has spent the last two seasons in Greek football and will be allowed to leave Panathinaikos for nothing this summer due to the country’s financial strife.

However, you couldn’t even pay me to take Jean-Alain Boumsong back to Newcastle, as his partnership with Titus Bramble still sends shivers down my spine.

West Ham, steer well clear!

We all no Sam sets his teams up firstly not to get beaten which means not conceding a lot of goals meaning Jean-Alain Boumsong will NOT be moving to Upton Park.

… Or he could and il look like a right mug!

    COYI!!

We’ve been linked with just about any player that’s put on a pair of boots in the last 15 years so hopefully this is just a bit of lazy journalism – picking a name out of a hat and matching them with a potential club. Good luck to Newcastle this year, you just keep your hands of our Tomkins! – Farnham Iron.

I don’t care what a player was 2-3years ago he’s time away from the club or have another club and another manager will give him a new lease of life , as l say u give a person/ player a second chance FOREVER A HAMMER

    • Dinos says:

In all fairness Boumsong’s reputation suffered because he was forever babysitting Bramble.

when he played alongside a young tayls they looked decent.

  • Spurs Mary says:

I slept with Jean 7 years ago and may i say he made me cum over and over again and he even liked me to spit it back in his mouth. Hope he joins the hammers then we can meet up again in Holborn

  • Dan says:

Hammer pete, your a f**kin sicko and I hope u or any of your family suffer from such a thing as a tumor!! Roeder was a crap manager but seemed like a decent person and certainly didn’t deserve to go thru what he did. You’ve got sone serious growing up to do

  • Errol says:

well said Dan,im a west ham fan and unfortunately we ve got our fair share of knobheads.Health and family always before football. As for Boumsong, please god NO!!!

I thought Marcelino was our biggest flop? Or Luque? Or Xisco, or Nacho or Owen or Bramble or Shola or a dozen other players.

Boumsong was a decent player when we got him, as was Bernard, as was Owen and another 20 players that we bought and then tried to convert to “our” way of playing.

A tad unfair I would suggest.

Dan – Hammer Pete is like an 8 year old who says “f#@k” in front of the vicar. He wants people like you to respond because it makes him feel like a big man.
If you leave him alone he’ll go back to playing with himself and we won’t hear any more from him.

To the Hammers fans, It’s not Boumsong you need to worry about, It’s Allerdyce and you’ll find that out B4 the season is over.
To hammer pete, you are a complete waste of someone elses precious fresh air
