Newcastle United’s pre-season schedule for the 2012/13 Premier League season may have started with a 1-0 loss against German club Chemnitzer FC, but that match also saw the Magpies unveil the Newcastle 2012/13 home shirt.
Due to be officially released next week, Alan Pardew’s squad wore their new home shirt for the first time on Friday, which is the first kit to properly feature the Virgin Money logo after they took over sponsorship of the shirt from Northern Rock last season.
While every Newcastle United home shirt is obviously based on the same black and white design, next season’s number is a slight departure from recent Newcastle home kits, with more stripes being featured on Puma’s new design.
Hopefully all of Newcastle’s stars including Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Cheick Tiote and Yohan Cabaye will be wearing it next season, alongside some new additions, maybe Mathieu Debuchy and Vurnon Anita perhaps?
Of Newcastle’s home shirts in recent years, which ones have you bought and which have been your favourites? I’m not a huge fan of the latest shirt initially, but I’m sure I’ll be won over.
