Newcastle United striker Demba BaDemba Ba is at the centre of Newcastle transfer news right now, with rumours that the Senegal striker is set to move to Galatasaray being rubbished by the Magpies. However, as Ba’s Newcastle United future still remains unclear, an interview of Demba reviewing last season has been uploaded to YouTube.

The 27-year-old, who trended on Twitter earlier in the week amidst rumours that he was moving to Turkey, had a fantastic first half to the campaign in the Premier League for Newcastle last season. He was banging in goals left, right and centre, and was clearly enjoying himself on Tyneside where he’s made plenty of friends.

Demba Ba is a likeable character and the Newcastle United fans have taken him to their heart. While fellow Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse may have overshadowed him since January, the Toon Army haven’t forgotten the bucket loads of goals he’s scored and the contribution he’s made throughout.

He’s a popular figure in the dressing room, and in the interview below reveals how well he gets on with French duo Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye on and off the pitch. Unsurprisingly his favourite game of the season was the one against Manchester United at St James’ Park and his goal in that game was also his favourite strike of the season.

He also gives his thanks to the Newcastle United fans, but will it be a case of thank you and goodbye? Here’s what Demba Ba made of his first (hopefully of many) season for Newcastle United…
