Steve Claridge's reaction to Papiss Cisse's goalSo Newcastle United fans, all of you must have seen Papiss Cisse’s spectacular goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge yesterday, but what you might not have seen is BBC Radio 5 Live pundit Steve Claridge’s reaction to the goal, which is almost as good as the goal itself! Well, maybe not…

Former striker Steve Claridge is a regular on the radio on 5 Live and although not one of my favourite pundits, he’s at least less sensationalist than the coverage that you get from talkSPORT, which is verging on the Sky Sports way of thinking that every game is the biggest game ever.

So, you know when Steve Claridge is impressed, then it must have been by something pretty special, and that’s just what Papiss Cisse’s second goal against Chelsea was.

Special, spectacular, unbelievable, whatever adjective you want to use, it applies to that strike.

Claridge lifts his arms in disbelief as he jumps out of his chair and after a few ‘oh, oh, oh, oh’s’ is left speechless as he tries to comprehend what he just saw; something that we all did.

As Steve says, just have a look at this…

The commentator sums it up best as he says he heard ‘howls of incredulity’ – what a great phrase! On a side note, is that former Newcastle left back John Beresford behind the mic? And spare a thought for the youngster whose job it is to bring John Motson a cup of tea!

    Love this “reaction” video. Seen it several times. Not sure who is fourth person is. And youngster… well, maybe he is there for some other reasons too! 😉
