Manchester United defender Ezekiel FryersHaving signed Gabriel Obertan from Manchester United last summer, Newcastle are looking to add another Red Devil to their squad at the end of this campaign and have their eye on young defender Ezekiel Fryers.

According to the Sunday Mirror, 19-year-old left back Fryers has been unable to agree a new deal at Old Trafford as yet and with his current contract coming to an end in June, Newcastle are looking to step in and take Fryers to the north-east.

Ezekiel Fryers has been at Manchester United since he was a kid, playing for youth teams from the age of nine, and made his breakthrough this year as he’s registered six first team appearances for Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad.

Fryers would understandably be reluctant to leave Manchester as they’re his boyhood club, but his frustration is starting to grow and for the sake of his career the England U19 international may be forced to look elsewhere, having not featured in 2012 thus far.

6ft tall Zeki can play in the middle of the back four as well as on the left of defence, an area that Alan Pardew is looking to strengthen and Newcastle are always on the search for talented youngsters to bring to the club.

Tottenham have been credited with an interest in Fryers, but wherever the FA Youth Cup winner goes in the summer, compensation will have to be paid to Man United due to the defender’s age.

This kid can only be a good thing fof theToon. The manure work ethic is a great blueprint and could be harvested to our benefit.
