Newcastle promoted to Premier LeagueLess than 750 days on from the day Newcastle were promoted back to the Premier League, they are fourth. Three points and four points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham and sixth-placed Chelsea respectively.

With 4 games to go, Newcastle have Wigan and Chelsea away, Man City at home, then Everton away on the final game of the season, and we are set to finish above all London clubs, should we win 2 more than Arsenal.

Wigan this afternoon is crucial for our top three hopes to begin an assault on The Champions League places, but should Chelsea win this season’s Champions League Final, they will take what we thought would be our spot.

Yohan Cabaye is nursing an injury and should be fit, Sylvain Marveaux is set to return and Gabriel Obertan seems to be back in the fold after being out since January.

Newcastle have won the last 6 games in a row, and have consequently became the best team in the league table, form table that is. 6 wins from 6, and only conceding 1 goal in that time means Keeper Tim Krul has added to his 8 clean sheets to an impressive 13, and seems set to be the second favourite for Golden Glove.

Alan Pardew has spent a meagre 20 million pounds, a hell of a lot less than Man City or Man Utd, and Arsenal, and is one of the favourites for Manager of The Year.

Not a bad 750 days at all…
