To boo or not to boo? That is the question

Liverpool striker returns to St James’ Park to face Newcastle United tomorrow and the attention is likely to be well and truly on him. While we’ll have to wait and see whether he makes Kenny Dalglish’s starting eleven, there will be plenty of focus on him from the media and from the fans. The question is, Newcastle fans if you’re going to St James’ Park tomorrow, will you boo ?

We might have been disappointed when Carroll left last season, but the fact of the matter is that the move has worked out well for Newcastle in the long run. The Magpies picked up £35 million for a player who has hardly been pulling up trees at Anfield, and Alan Pardew has managed to reinvest that money with aplomb. Demba Ba on a free and Papiss Cisse for £10m have been excellent signings up front, not to mention Yohan Cabaye and co.

I have no particular hard feelings towards Carroll, he was offered an incredible deal and as a result decided to leave his home-town club. He still clearly has feelings for Newcastle as had said he won’t celebrate tomorrow if he does score, which I guess is the least we could ask from him. But does that alter your feelings towards Carroll?

This is what Andy Carroll said about his return to St James’ Park, telling the Newcastle Evening Chronicle that: “If I scored on Sunday then I wouldn’t celebrate. I hope I get a good reception from the fans, they’ll be getting one from me. I thought I did well for the club when I was there and loved it. I have some great memories from playing there. I have always had a good relationship with the Newcastle fans and it stems back to playing for them.”

If Carroll did score tomorrow it would be sickening, but while I desperately want Newcastle to beat Liverpool, that’s purely so we get even further ahead of them in the table, not because they have ex-Magpies Carroll and Jose Enrique in their team. Although I have to admit it would make it that little bit sweeter!

So, will you be booing Andy Carroll tomorrow? Vote in our poll…

why boo the ponytail flop.he’s given Newcastle 35 million and you’ve brought players like Ba,Cisse,Ben Arfa,Cabaye…etc with that money.i am a Liverpool fan and i am disgusted by our transfer policy.give me those 35 million and i’ll find a better player than Carroll to bring.Dalglish sucks at his transfer policy.YNWA

I’ll boo at my tv. Lol. Though not as upset now as I was when he originally left and we thought he would partner Rooney upfront for england for years.

No point in booing him, may fire him up to put a performance in. Yes he left every young geordie kids dream for cash or whatever else but hey it’s improved us ten fold, so get behind the lads and lose your voices on that and don’t waste them on Carroll

Why can’t fans grow up and show some humility?

Give him a clap, he’s a Geordie boy!

He was good for us when he was here, now he’s not ***and we haven’t gone backwards!!***

Time to move on and let him figure out his own problems at Luverpool.
