Newcastle United’s season just gets better and better, as the Magpies put in a heroic performance at Old Trafford to hold Manchester United to a 1-1 draw. Newcastle rode their luck at times and it was backs to the wall stuff after was sent off, but Alan Pardew will be delighted with their performance.

After a tight first half, Man United were lucky to take the lead as Steven Taylor’s clearance hit Javier Hernandez and trickled in. Newcastle got back on level terms through a penalty, which was fortunate to say the least as Rio Ferdinand performed a clean tackle on .

After that Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul pulled off a string of fine saves, Danny Simpson made a great goal line clearance and Taylor prevented Ashley Young from tapping in. Hernandez thought he had won it at the end, but Newcastle were saved by the linesman’s flag and were relieved when the final whistle was blown.

    that was by far the worst man u team ive seen, but wel take the point from old trafford, not many teams can say this. krul was excellent

    Those ‘highlights’ suck it only shows the penalty. Oh well the performance will live long in my life memories of wonderful moments.
