Newcastle selling players to Liverpool is becoming something of a worrying trend. Last season saw Andy Carroll swap Tyneside for Merseyside, while in the summer Jose Enrique exited St James’ Park and joined Carroll at Anfield. Now, Newcastle’s captain and one of their star performers this season, Fabricio Coloccini, has been linked with a transfer to Kenny Dalglish’s side as well.

Liverpool are pondering a move for January move for Newcastle skipper Coloccini, according to Footy Latest.

The Argentina international has been in impressive form for Newcastle this season and this has alerted Liverpool who would like to add some more defensive cover in the upcoming transfer window.

Having already lost former stars Carroll and Enrique to the Merseyside club, fans of the Toon would be devastated if they lost another prize asset.

However, with Coloccini’s contract out at the end of the 2012/13 season, Newcastle will have to resolve the central defender’s future sooner rather than later.

With Newcastle manager Alan Pardew recently describing Coloccini as the “best centre-back I’ve worked with,” the Magpies can ill afford to lose their defensive rock.

The sooner they can tie Colo down to a long term contract the better. If they don’t, then Anfield could become something of a Newcastle old boy’s club!

Dagleish already took apart a great Newcastle team and now he is trying to do the same again!!!

If they offer £10m and £80K per week salary then its goodbye Collo i’m afraid!

However I doubt he would go to Liverpool. If he want to leave he is likely off to Spain!
