The Top 10 Toon Frenchmen?
So, there’s a new Frenchman on Tyneside in the shape of Yohan Cayabe. In addition to Hatem Ben Arfa who’ll return from injury next term, the Toon Army are already excited about what these creative players can bring to St James’ Park and both could be absolute crackers of players on Tyneside.
This got me thinking about just how highly they can rate among the Top 10 French Newcastle players of all-time. Newcastle have had some awful French players in the past and you won’t be surprised to know that Jean-Alain Boumsong, the accident waiting to happen, didn’t make the list and neither did striking flop Stéphane Guivarc’h.
There have been some great French players to play in the black and white stripes as well, though, as you’ll see in the our Top 10. How highly can Cayabe and Ben Arfa feature?
